HTA8 The Relationship between ICER's Evidence Rating Matrix and Incremental Quality-Adjusted Life Years

The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review’s (ICER’s) Evidence Rating Matrix is a comparative clinical effectiveness decision tool that distills an intervention’s net health benefit its uncertainty into ordered categorical grades. ICER assessments also estimate incremental lifetime quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) through cost-effectiveness modeling. This analysis aims to explore the relationship between ICER’s QALYs. We used Compendium corresponding reports compile list of pairwise treatment comparisons, their respective Ratings, QALY findings. limited consistent comparisons time horizon were published January 2017 September 2021. For each comparison, we collapsed Ratings three categories based on estimated net-health benefit: Superior (including A, B, B+), Comparable or Better C+, C++), Uncertain P/I, I). Descriptive outcomes by category included mean QALYs proportion with ≥ 0.5. Eighty-three included. Although unique, contain overlap within goals. supported findings from this descriptive study may be useful in maintaining consistency across assessments.
